University News

The Level 1 Olympic weightlifting course went well at Uni of Middlesex. The students had prepared well. Most will pass, but not all. Several intend to compete in the Southern Universities at Hendon on April 2. Brunel also will compete. We hope St Mary's  and Bucks too.  There may be students from Uni of Surrey but they train at
Woking as the Uni has no weightlifting equipment in its weightlifting gym, nor any BWL coach! Another more promising lead is Kent Uni which is installing weightlifting facilities after having banned weightlifting for several years. Middx Uni has found funds and mobile kit from Boris Johnson's OG legacy fund and they will be visiting North London schools to promote weightlifting.

If anyone is interested to do the level 1 please contact

LSE Open Postponed

The LSE open on Saturday 4 December has been postponed due to severe weather conditions.  It is with regret that we have had to do this and I apologise for all of you that have trained for this event but at present it is not possible to stage the event and we are unable to know the situation on Saturday and feel it only fair to let everyone know in advance.
We have a provisional date for Saturday 8 January but will confirm when finalised.

Again apologies.
